You should talk to your family about what next steps they plan to take.

A caveat prevents you from "dealing" with the property (meaning you won't be able to sell the house or get a new mortgage, etc). You could talk to a property lawyer about steps to remove the caveat if you plan to sell the house. But if you do not want to "deal" with the property, then it will be up to your family to take the next steps to try to collect the loan. What they can do will depend on what the loan agreement was. Your local Community Law Centre will be able to tell you about local advice options for property matters, although not all Community Law Centres give advice about property issues.
