Question Details: My neighbour and I each have our own driveways running parallel to each other; there is no fence separating them. They park all 3 of their cars on their driveway and then use our driveway to get in and out. They have never asked if we mind and will not give way if I am trying to get down my driveway to my home. Can I stop my neighbours from using my driveway as their own?

You can stop your neighbour. There are formal means of doing this by warning them that they will be trespassing if they continue to use your driveway. More information about this can be found here: www.communitylaw.org.nz
Generally though, it would be best to approach your neighbour in a more relaxed manner first. Make them aware that you are not happy with the way your driveway is being used. You should try this before taking a more formal response.
