Question Details: I work for a company which has separate sites. Travelling between the two of them can add an extra hour to my workday and this can occur 4 out of the 5 days of the week. My usual place of work is not a remote site.

It depends on your employment agreement. Important aspects of the agreement will be the "place of work" in your agreement, and the duties described in it. Travel time away from the "place of work" in your agreement should usually be counted as work time.
Generally though what you describe sounds like more than occasional travel and instead appears to be an extension of your job which you did not initially agree to. If that is the case, you should raise the matter with your employer in the first instance, to discuss compensation or allowances and a recognition of the time being spent or lost. If this proves unsuccessful, you should consider seeking further legal advice regarding a potential personal grievance for "unjustified disadvantage".
