Question Details: I asked my employer if I could cash in a week's worth of leave. The employer said no, because company policy apparently dictates that employees need a 'work/life balance'. Is the employer entitled to do this?

Yes, your employer can refuse your request. Under the Holidays Act, you have the right to ask that your employer pay out a portion of your entitlement to annual holidays.
