Can my employer reduce my salary if they believe my job doesn't merit the salary that I've been earning?

Question Details: My employer thinks that my salary is too high for the work I do. I earn quite a bit more than colleagues who are in more senior positions than me but is that my problem?

No, your employer cannot reduce your salary without your consent.

Unfortunately however, in practical terms, you may find in the future that your employer considers removing your position and creating a newer and more affordable one that you will have to apply for. If that occurs you should seek further legal assistance.
