Can someone enter Fiji with a criminal conviction and without a visa?

Question Details: My brother has a criminal record and he is travelling to Fiji without a visa. Will he be permitted to board the aircraft from NZ?

The issue usually exists at the entry port (that is, in Fiji in your brother's case) not the departure port (NZ).

Once your brother has arrived, we cannot speak for the Fijian border authorities as to how they operate. However many countries exercise a discretion regarding whether to grant a visitor or tourist visa, looking at the type of offences and when they were. To find out if his particular convictions will result in any issues we suggest you try contacting the Fijian Authorities: www.immigration.gov.fj.
